Bishop Joe Grech’s Christmas Message

2008

Dear Friends

Christmas is central, not only for those who believe in Jesus Christ, but for everybody. The essential meaning of Christmas is found in the gospel of St John chapter 3 verse 15 – “For this is how God loved the world (me): He gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not die but may have eternal life.” Everybody needs to hear and own this reality. Moreover, no one can give us this promise of eternal life except Jesus Christ.  As human beings created by God we are called to make this world a better place to live in by following the values and principles of Jesus Christ. At the same time we are destined for eternity. This is the reason why we celebrate Christmas. My prayer is that we may spend this Christmas season surrounded by our families and loved ones knowing that our God is passionately in love with each one of us.

 God bless.

 Bishop Joe
